SPM, SPMV & O-Level Qualifications
(less than 12 years formal education)
Option No. 1
Complete a year of "University Preparatory Course " [Pre-U] at one of the authorised Japanese language institutions, inclusive learning Japanese language
23 schools to choose from in Japan
1 school to choose from in Malaysia

Option No. 2
Attend a course in higher education institution in home country for the required 12 years of education. After that, study the Japanese language either in Malaysia or in Japan if the student's Japanese isn't good enough.
Sit for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) in Malaysia or later in Japan

Apply to schools offering "Pre-arrival Admission System" based solely on EJU Examination results
OR Apply to schools which use EJU Examination results as well as their own entrance examinations
Undergraduate programme: 4 years
...6 years for medicine, dentistry & veterinary
sciences and pharmacy
Note : There are also some undergraduate programmes conducted in English medium
STPM, UEC, Diploma, A-Level,
Pre-U Study, University Foundation
and Equivalent Qualifications
If the student's command of Japanese language isn't good enough, study Japanese in Malaysia before going to Japan, or study it for a certain period after arriving in Japan

Private Japanese language institutions whicha are accredited by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education (Nisshinkyo)
Sit for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) in Malaysia or later in Japan
